A supermarket owner in Tshepisong who lives on his business premises recently locked up the store at approximately 8pm and went to sleep.

He was woken in the early morning hours by the sound of a vehicle crashing into the garage door and burglar bars. When he went to investigate two men with firearms were inside the shop.

The men took groceries, airtime vouchers and cash. Two men waited outside.

The police managed to arrest two of the suspects but the other two got away and are still at large.

The men appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court on charges of business robbery.
