Dorah’s Ark says #bringbackourgirls
Dorah's Ark and company support the #bringourgirlsback movement in Roodepoort CBD.
Among international voices against woman abuse and for education, and especially in view of the Nigerian school girl abductions, Dorah’s Ark proudly added theirs.
Dorah’s Ark hosted 25 activists from Mbalenhle Home Based Care and Leratong Kagisano Nkosasa as well as the South African Resident Association at their premises in Roodepoort CBD on Friday (27 June) to unite in protest.
At 11am they took to the streets with placards expressing their views on women and education.
“Girls are our future,” read Mogomotsi Sebogodi and Elizabeth Mathonsi’s placard, while another stated “Education liberates”.
Patty Ogle, Dorah’s Ark’s fundraiser, was proud of what they had accomplished.
“We are all saddened by the situation in Nigeria; how those girls are away from their families and denied education.
“We want them back, we want all girls to enjoy their right to education, that is what we stand for.”
Other voices against the Nigerian school girl situation are united on twitter under the hashtag #bringourgirlsback .
