PSL Player of the Season Sibusiso Vilakazi, the captain of Bidvest Wits, will not be sold to another South African club according to his business manager.
Vilakazi is managed by Mike Makaab of Prosport International who says that there is interest in the Bafana Bafana international from a Belgian side.
The Bidvest Wits star, who made 35 appearances for his club in all competitions last season and scored 13 goals, was not only named PSL Player of the Season, but also PSL Players’ Player of the Season and Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament at the end of the last campaign.
Vilakazi (24) has said time and again that he only wants a move to Europe and will turn down advances from the Gauteng ‘Big Three’ who have reportedly shown interest as would be expected.
“There is real interest from Belgium, so we are hopeful that something can be done,” Makaab told Kick Off.
“He (Vilakazi) wants to play in Europe, that is his ambition, and I think that it is great that a young South African player takes that stance when big local clubs come knocking.”
There is also interest in Vilakazi from Danish side Brondby, who will compete in the UEFA Europa League next season. He spent a few days at Brondby during the past season, but Makaab is not happy to send him for another trial. If they want him they must make advances now.
Bidvest Wits have a partnership with Brondby that has already seen one of their development players, Lebogang Phiri, move to Denmark and play in the first team at the club.
