Banyana take game to the people
National women's football team teach pupils some skills.
Banyana Banyana took a break from their taxing schedule on Wednesday afternoon in order to conduct coaching clinics to leaners at Credo Primary School in Zamdela Township, Sasolburg.
As part of their CSI initiative, Sasol invited the South African female football team to spend the afternoon with the leaners, teaching them football skills.
The team, comprising of more than two hundred leaners, were met by Banyana Banyana coach, Vera Pauw as well as various players from the team.
“The welcome we received at the school was overwhelming, it shows the kind of support we have in Sasolburg,” said Sasol Banyana Banyana Captain Janine van Wyk.
“It is always great to give back to the communities across the country and we are grateful to Sasol for creating an opportunity for us to interact with the kids.”
Banyana Banyana will play a friendly match against Botswana on Saturday after they qualified for the next round of the 2014 Women’s Championships.
