Woman (37) held up with knife, mugged
"I kept asking please don't hurt me."
A 37-year-old woman is traumatised severely after coming face to face with her attacker.
The woman who cannot be named to protect her identity says, “I was walking along Gregor Street at around 5.45am on my way to the bus stop, which was a few blocks away, when a man who I believe have been following me for two blocks started speaking to me.
“He wasn’t talking sense at all. He then suddenly pushed me against the wall,” says the victim.
He put a knife against her throat and held her head saying, “You better keep quiet” and “We are going back”.
When she shouted out of fear, a resident came running from one of the houses. The attacker then grabbed her handbag containing her driver’s licence, house keys, bank cards and cash.
The resident then gave chase after the suspect, but couldn’t catch him. The victim broke out in tears and says the suspect had other intentions as he easily could have grabbed her handbag if he wanted to.
This was the third time the woman had fell victim to crime as she says she has been held hostage and hijacked before.
Since the incident the woman is petrified of showing her face in public and fears for her life. She, however, is glad to be alive and warns all women not to walk alone during any time of the day.
Her boyfriend, Chris Payne confirmed that they have opened a case of assault at a nearby police station, also providing the police with an identikit.
