Shop owner shoots robber dead

A liquor store owner shot and killed a suspect in a recent attempted robbery.

Four men walked into the store on Mouton Street at closing time and demanded the owner’s cellphone, wallet, watch and an undisclosed amount of cash at gunpoint.

The shop owner managed to draw his firearm and shot one suspect in the head. The suspect died on the scene.

In the meanwhile the other three suspects managed to flee the scene in a white Toyota Tazz but while being pursued by the police they crashed their vehicle.

They were arrested and rushed to hospital.
