Sooffah Comedy Couch to feature prominent acts
The next few shows will feature popular comedians such as Mel Miller.
The next Sooffah Comedy Couch event will be on Friday 25 April at the Roodepoort Theatre.
The Sooffah Comedy Couch comedy shows started in June 2013, “and audiences were left in stitches, with many complaining of aching bellies and sore lungs for days after the shows,” said Nadiem Solomon, organiser and host.
“At times the laughter and cheering was so loud that emergency services were placed on standby.”
Another show was organised due to popular demand, and Nadiem is pleased that “the next run of shows will feature the very best acts alongside new talent”.
On Friday 25 April the line-up will include Mel Miller, often referred to as the godfather of South African comedy, as well as Alyn Adams, Robby Collins and Lihle Lindsay Msimang.
Robby just finished his highly-acclaimed one-man show, That bushmen’s crazy, and Lihle Lindsay had audiences completely entranced in previous Sooffah shows.
They will be supported by the Standup Guys, consisting of Zee the Entertainer, Graham Shirley, Erich Veidge, Braven Nhlapo, Ian Campbell and Colin Jackson.
Tickets for the show costs R100 per person and are available for online purchase at SmartFan (www.roodepoorttheatre.com). Tickets also can be booked by contacting the office on 011 674 1356 or Nadiem on 082 373 9483 or via email at nadiem@sooffah.com.
