A man in his early thirties was moderately injured in a collision at the Goldman Street and Golf Club Terrace intersection in Roodepoort on the morning of 11 March, according to ER 24 spokesperson Luyanda Majija.
Fire department personnel removed the man and a young child from the vehicle.
The man was discovered to have sustained a suspected serious leg fracture and lacerations. The child was uninjured. Both were transported to Leratong Hospital for further medical observation and treatment.
The collision apparently occurred when two vehicles collided and causing one of them to crash into a tree.
The exact circumstances leading to the collision are under investigation, but it is expected that wet weather and mist were the cause of the accident.
