Eskom warns of possible load shedding

The public should prepare for possible power outtages

On Thursday 6 March, Eskom declared a power emergency because heavy rain had left their coal stocks wet.

Addressing the press, spokesperson Andrew Etzinger warned that, “rotational load shedding is a strong possibility”.

Eskom has asked their industrial consumers to cut their usage by 10 percent, but even that may not prevent power outages.

The public is urged to reduce their electricity usage to help ease demand.

  2. Why must there be load shedding as from 6pm to 10pm. That is when people come home and cook food. This is rediculous. When must the public have their supper. Bear in mind of the publics working hoursand traffic during those hours. Please review the time frame of 6pm to 10pm for load shedding.
