Most suburbs in Rdpt without power soon
… this after City Power announced planned power outages.
You might want to stock up on candles as City Power announced that planned power outages will take place in Roodepoort at the end of February and the beginning of March.
According to an official statement released by City Power, “The power interruption is necessary to do essential maintenance work on our network which is part of our program of constantly striving to provide better service”.
There are two key dates for the scheduled mass darkness – Friday 28 February and Sunday 2 March. Although nearly 20 suburbs will be affected, large suburbs such as Roodekrans, Helderkruin, Horison, Kloofendal won’t. (see below which areas will be affected).
City Power explains, “The interruption for 28 February will take place from 10pm until 6am the following morning of 1 March and again from 10pm on Sunday 2 March until 6am the following morning of 3 March.
“As the supply may be restored at anytime, customers are urged to treat their electricity supply points as live at all times.
“City Power regrets any inconvenience that may be caused by these interruptions.”
