Words of wisdom

A resident shares some wisdom with his fellow Roodepoorters.

Comrade Raphael Ikechukwu Ogbuagu (email):

I would like to share the following words of wisdom with my fellow Roodepoorters:

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘Press on’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.” — Calvin Coolidge)

“The truth is, unless you let go, unless you forgive yourself, unless you forgive the situation, unless you realise that the situation is over, you cannot move forward.” — Steve Maraboli

Ogbuagu is the author and publisher of a book called Hard Lessons of Life and Self Healing. — Mathilde Myburgh, journalist.
