My vote won’t count anyway

Have you ever asked your friends or colleagues whether they are registered to vote and received that ignorant answer of “what’s the use”?
I get that a lot, and quite frankly, I disrespect and look down on that attitude.
I am yet to hear a good argument as to why it is a good idea not to vote. Don’t get me wrong here, if you choose not to vote as you are not interested in the leadership of our country, that’s up to you. But as soon as you use the words “what will it help?” you are ignorant.
Let me break it down. Even amidst election fraud every vote is counted. The winning party is then elected as leaders of the country and other parties get elected in other sectors according to their votes; parliament, municipalities et cetera.
If you choose not to vote based on an ignorant attitude of “my vote won’t count”, then you basically rob other voters of their right to have the leadership they believe in. For argument’s sake, let’s say that in a population of 200, there are 80 ignorant non-voters. So 60 people vote for party A, 40 people vote for party B and 20 for party C. You could be the reason that party C never gets close to winning. Party B could have gained leadership if you had gone out and voted. It’s a matter of balance, and you the non-voter are causing a lopsided democracy.
If you choose not to vote as you simply do not care and never complain about anything, it’s your choice, but if you choose not to vote as you feel your vote will lack impact, think deeper. Your country needs you. Get out and get registered!
Still not convinced? If you don’t go and make your X during this year’s elections, don’t dare complain about anything.
