Post Office promises peace of mind this festive season
Post Office can assist in motorists not getting caught by surprise.

One of the worst ways to start a holiday is to be pulled over at a roadblock with an expired car licence or unpaid traffic fines.
And one of the worst ways to end it is to return to a home without electricity, because the bill was not paid.
Ndala Mnisi, head of the Post Office’s Retail division, says car owners in Gauteng can renew their car licences at any of 240 selected post offices in the province. The utility bills of any home in the Tshwane, Johannesburg, or Ekurhuleni metros can be paid at any post office countrywide.
Homeowners can stretch their holiday budget by paying their December bills at the end of December in the town where they are on vacation.
Traffic fines of the Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni, Tshwane, and Cape Town city councils can be paid at any post office countrywide or by loging onto virtualpostoffice.co.za.
Motorists who want to make sure their payments are up to date before leaving on holiday can check their accounts online by going to virtualpostoffice.co.za and clicking on the Traffic Fines Counter.
Mnisi says the Post Office continues to deliver Christmas cheer, despite the general shift to electronic communication.
“The rise in online shopping has resulted in a rise in the number of parcels we deliver,” he says.
The Post Office believes there are two reasons for this – affordability and reach.
There is a post office in almost any town and suburbs of South Africa, making it possible for the Post Office to reach even very remote locations.
