Children spoiled at SAPS Florida
Florida Police and Flora Guns bring early holiday cheer.
The Florida police joined forces with Flora Guns to bring children some festive cheer on Monday 25 November.
Children of Laerskool Ebenhaeser and Smarties EduCare were treated to a special day on the premises of the Florida Police Station in Sauer Street.
Flora Guns funded the event because resident and employee Lucinda Nel wanted to do something special for the children this year.
“My heart broke when I saw these children and their struggles.”
Around R20 000 was spent on food, a jumping castle, bus shuttles to the police station, sweets and presents for all the children.
“I’m great friends with Captain Rameletse and so started organising this event in collaboration with the police,” she told the Record.
Many police personnel mingled with the children and the organisers, and Captain Ramalatso later helped two girls unwrap their dolls. Captain Snyman dressed up as Santa Clause that gave each child a hug, a handshake and a present suited to their age.
