A 49-year-old woman was killed after being knocked down by a bakkie while attempting to cross the N1 highway just before the Maraisburg Road offramp on 27 November.
According to ER24′ Vanessa Jackson, “Paramedics who were travelling on the highway came across the woman lying in the road. She had been knocked down by a Toyota Hilux, which was travelling in the direction of Pretoria.
“Paramedics assessed the woman and found her to have suffered extensive head injuries. Sadly, she had already died as a result of the injuries and was declared dead on scene.
“The driver of the bakkie that collided into her was not injured in the collision.
“The local police were called to the scene and will conduct all necessary investigations into the cause of the collision.”
