Nature is a work of art — Kloofendal
Children will enjoy Kloofendal's art workshop where art is created from natural "ingredients".

Children can discover the art in nature with the Friends of Kloofendal (FroK) and art teacher and previous Ward Councilor Rae Baur.
Residents are invited to the Kloofendal Nature Reserve on Monday 9 December to create art from natural “ingredients”, according to FroK spokesperson and guide Karin Spottiswoode. A walk in the Reserve will be led by Spottiswoode to collect these “ingredients” (including seeds, leaves, grasses, grass flowers, lichens, feathers, twigs and bark) towards the art work.
Then the participants will gather in the amphitheatre area where they can enjoy refreshments after which, under guidance of Rae Baur, the children will create their own unique art using what they collected. Spottiswoode warns that there are no tuck shops in the Reserve and that any snacks and drinks are to be brought along from home.
“There are clean ablution facilities and picnic facilities in the amphitheatre area.
“It is advisable to bring a hat and sun screen.”
FroK will provide paper, paint, brushes, glue and Carlton rolls, but participants are to wear old clothes and/ or bring aprons, as well as bring scissors and ice cube trays for mixing paint.
The art and craft adventure starts at 8am and should finish around 11am. The costs are R120 per person. For more information or bookings contact Karin Spottiswoode on 079 693 5608 or 011 674 2980.
