A resident, Lee Russon, from Magnesiet Street in Wilro Park has been battling for eight months to prevent a potential tragedy.
A giant bluegum tree once again is the culprit. The tree is standing right against the boundary wall of his back yard in a piece of veld behind his property.
Previously some branches were blown off and damaged his washing line. He now fears that when the dangerously keeling tree falls, it not only will damage his house or the granny flat in his back yard severely, but might injure his family or one of his beloved dogs.
He has brought the matter to City Parks’ attention on various occasions but to no avail.
