A new community-based 'helping hand' is soon to make its debut.
A community assistance programme soon will make its debut in the Roodepoort area, the Friends of the West (FoW).
As famous American author Helen Keller once said, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much”. Resident Chantal Roets and one of many participants in the programme, seems to follow the same philosophy.
“Residents should feel welcome to this group of friends that care for one another,” says an excited Roets.
The programme will operate in the Witpoortjie, Lindhaven, Reefhaven, Grobler Park and Mindalore areas and the group’s hope is that it can expand soon.
“We are a dedicated friendship circle where all members are willing to assist each other with problems that might occur.”
Roets listed plumbing problems and emergencies as some of these problems and said that the group encourages “a general community helping hand”.
“New friends are always welcome. Please contact us and we gladly will assist you.”
