It’s almost time for the 7th Sportmans Warehouse 10km road race
Runners urged to participate.
Dedicated and eager runners are invited to be part of the 7th Sportmans Warehouse 10km road race in November.
Charlie Herselman from the Roodepoort Athletics Club and one of the organisers for the event says, “We in conjunction with Sportsmans Warehouse at Princess Crossing shopping centre proudly invite runners to take part in another exciting 10km road race at the shopping centre.
“The race will take place on Sunday 10 November at 7am and will start and finish at Sportsmans Warehouse at Princess Crossing.
“The runners will follow a circular route of 10km and will start and finish at the same venue. All finishers will receive a beautiful 38mm silver medal on a ribbon. The first 1 000 athletes will receive their medals at the finish while the rest will get them by mail.
“Cash prices will be awarded to the first three men and three women as well as the winners in the other categories.
“There is no cut-off time for the race and walkers are welcome.
“Entries for the race will be accepted from 5.30am on the day of the race. Entrance fee is R30 per runner. Runners also can enter at enteronline.co.za until Wednesday 6 November and/ or Sportsmans Warehouse Princess Crossing.
“Athletes who are not registered with a club are welcome to take part. However, these athletes will have to pay an additional R15 for a temporary licence.
“There will be a 5km Fun Run but the serious runners will run the 10km road race. The Fun Run also starts at 7am. Entries for the Fun Run will be accepted from 5.30am on the day of the race and are R15 each. No licences are required for the Fun Run and everybody is welcome to take part.
“All finishers of the Fun Run will receive a medal. The first 200 finishers will receive their medals at the finish while the rest will get them by mail.”
