Westlake collision leaves two critical

A vehicle accident on Westlake Avenue leaves two critical.

Two people were found in a critical condition after a collision on Westlake Avenue on Saturday 19 October.

According to Christo Venter, ER24 spokesperson, a man believed to be in his twenties lost control of his vehicle near the intersection of Westlake Avenue and Main Reef Road. He collided with a tree, after which the vehicle rolled down an embankment. It occurred around 4.30pm.

“Paramedics on scene had to free the patient with the Jaws of Life,” Venter told the Record.

Both the driver and his passenger sustained multiple critical injuries.

“They were transported to Life Flora Clinic for further medical care.

“The cause of the collision and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.”

It was not indicated whether JMPD were on the scene of the accident.
