Jehovah’s Witnesses host Midrand convention

Join the Assembly of Jehovah's Witnesses for a special Bible-focused convention.

Join the Assembly of Jehovah’s Witnesses for the ‘God’s Word is Truth’ convention in Midrand this October.

From 25 to 27 October, Jehovah’s Witnesses from all over the West Rand can make use of this programme that focuses on the Bible and the advice it provides.

“This is a similar programme to that which some 25 000 people from the Johannesburg area will have seen earlier this month as a series of six conventions that were held at the Roodepoort Athletics Stadium in a number of local languages,” said Abram Letlhage of the Randfontein Sign Language Congregation.

“The convention theme is significant because it underscores a core family value for Jehovah’s Witnesses who embrace the Bible as the most trustworthy guide and source of advice in these troubled times.

“We find that the public also will benefit from and enjoy this practical programme.”

For the sake of the visually impaired members, the Jehovah Witnesses in conjunction with the Randfontein Sign Language Congregation will present the programme in South African sign language during the convention in October.

Among the highlights will be a Sunday morning talk titled ‘What is truth?’ which aims to examine the reasons why the Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that the Bible can be trusted. By way of two dramatic plays on Friday and Sunday afternoon, Bible stories and their life lessons will be brought to life.

The convention is held free of charge to residents. Conventions of Jehovah’s Witnesses are supported entirely by voluntary donations so no collection will be taken.

A recent press release reports that fellow Jehovah’s Witnesses can expect that in the following months around 80 similar conventions will be held throughout southern Africa in all local languages. The same convention will be presented in Cape Town prior to this event.

Those interested can meet at 50 Strelitzia Avenue in Country View, Midrand on Friday 25 October. For more information, contact Abram Letlhage on 083 998 6578 or via email at oupaletlhage@yahoo.com.
