Police invites public to join major upcoming event
"The day will be informative and full of fun" – Maraisburg CPF.
The public soon will have an opportunity to engage with police and other emergency services after it was announced that the Maraisburg Community Police Forum (CPF) in association with all the sub-forums within the Florida policing area will conduct an awareness campaign at Hoërskool Florida on Saturday 26 October.
Maraisburg CPF member Noor Brown says the purpose of the event is “to raise awareness about crime prevention, safety tips and to have a fun day”.
Among the stakeholders expected to be present are the Florida South African Police Service (SAPS), SAPS reservists in the Honeydew Cluster, Johannesburg Emergency Services (EMS), Fire West Rand, ER24 and the SAPS brass band.
The event will be from 10am until 4pm. There will be demonstrations from some of the stakeholders and awareness will be raised about crime prevention, drug abuse, alcohol abuse and women and child abuse.
“I invite the public to come as the day will be very informative and full of fun,” Brown adds.
