Ridgevale Women’s Day brunch a success
The Ridgevale Primary School parents held a beautiful brunch on Saturday 31 August.
Roodekrans — Mothers of the Ridgevale Primary School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) organised a fabulous Women’s Day Brunch on Saturday 31 August.
PTA committee members Anthea Froneman, Candace Rich, Elizabeth Pitcher and Mamohau Phatlani decided that this year the proceeds are to benefit Cansa.
“With this event we wanted to raise funds for both the school and an organisation of our choosing.
“We chose Cansa because cancer is such a big struggle and the organisation does wonderful work,” said Elizabeth.
The proceeds from ticket sales and special raffle tickets were to be donated to Cansa.
Cito from Wonderboom was a guest speaker and entertainer at the event, and the PTA called on Pastor Dannae Isaacs to motivate the women and girls attending the event in a beautifully decorated Ridgevale Primary School hall. Melony Walker, a Cansa representative, also spoke to the women about the struggle with the disease and their upcoming events. Zara Harvey, make-up artist and hair stylist from Capture Colour shared the latest make-up trends with the audience.
“We have a great attendance and to me, this is a nice bonding experience with my daughter.”
Guests stood the chance of winning a laser treatment voucher, a Hakuna Matata spa voucher, an Avon hamper or a nail voucher.
Elizabeth says that the PTA hopes to make this brunch an annual event and might throw a mother-daughter tea into the mix next year.
The Ridgevale Primary School is hosting a Christmas market on Saturday 30 November. For more information, contact Elizabeth Pitcher at 083 390 8963.
