At approximately 1pm on 23 August a SAPS bakkie crashed into a civilian vehicle.
The accident took place at the busy crossing from where Steinmann Street crosses CR Swart Road towards the Wilro Gate Shopping Centre’s entrance.
The hatchback was travelling towards Ontdekkers Road when the SAPS bakkie, travelling from Ontdekkers Road, attempted to turn right into the shopping centre and hit the oncoming car.
According to eyewitnesses the accident was the mistake of the SAPS vehicle, but this cannot officially be confirmed.
Luckily no one was injured in the accident.
