This pedestrian crossing (on Ontdekkers Road oppposite Westgate Shopping Centre) is causing such hassles and those running blindly across the road are going to get killed.
It is definitely a safety hazard.
Installing a robot there will not work because, if it stops working, no-one will stop and they again will run across the road blindly as they are doing now.
The crossing should be removed before there is a fatal collision and the taxis must be forced to use the taxi rank that specifically was built for them at Westgate Shopping Centre.
We, the public and patrons of Westgate had to sacrifice parking space for them.

I agree that the taxis using the bus stop at the traffic light there as a rank is a problem. The space for a bus stop is used as a rank where several taxis park. this is a recent issue that came about when the traffic light was installed. Now, passing taxis that need to stop don’t have space to pull aside, and stop in the left lane, causing a jam.
The traffic light for pedestrians is useful, and makes crossing safer.
I hope that the authorities attend to this new rank. It would make it safer for traffic.
