Local resident, national spokesperson for the DA and now the party’s candidate for the Gauteng Premiership, Mmusi Maimane was elected as the DA’s Premiership candidate on 9 August, eliminating Jack Bloom in the race.
In a speech in Dobsonville, Maimane said he “wants to show people a new vision of Gauteng. A place where services are delivered, where corruption is the exception, a place where young people have the jobs to make a success of their lives”.
Maimane also criticised President Jacob Zuma.
“The ANC under Jacob Zuma has let us down,” said Maimane.
He will tour Gauteng to meet voters and “listen” to them.
