ANC region launches Moses Kotane Volunteer Brigade

Call for volunteers a great success.

The ANC’s Moses Kotane Volunteer Brigade in the Johannesburg Region was launched officially on 28 July at the Dobsonville Stadium.

“We want to believe that the venue never in existence has been filled to the rafters like it was on Sunday. More the 20 000 ANC members from Ivory Park to as far as Orange Farm descended on the Dobsonville Stadium to show their commitment towards the election campaign,” says Raymond Martin, ANC Zone 4 Communication Manager.

Members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) Susan Shabangu, Joyce Mashamba and Nkoane Maite-Mashabane and former NEC member Tokyo Sexwale graced the occasion, including both Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) and Regional leaders.

Paul Mashatile the Chairperson of the Province gave the address and formally introduced 14 000 ANC volunteers into all wards in the region and implored all of them to commit to ensuring a decisive victory for the ANC in the upcoming elections next year.

Mashitele urged volunteers to intensify the ID campaign saying that “you may convince as many voters as you possibly can out there but if they have no IDs they will not be able to vote and you would have wasted your time”.

Mashitele further cautioned that the volunteers may encounter many challenges and hurdles as they continue with the campaign but urged them to remain focused on the bigger picture and not be swayed by doomsayers.

Mashitele further appealed to all volunteers to guarantee a two thirds victory in the 2014 election.
