I’d like to comment as someone who works closely with the Pit Bull Federation of South Africa (PBFSA).
I also serve on the committee of Underdogs SA (a pit bull rehabilitation centre).
I would like to stress (again) what was written in this article – pit bulls are not supposed to be human aggressive.
However, these dogs are not a breed for everyone.
They require a dedicated owner who is prepared to do the work that is required with these dogs.
I would like to thank the journalist who wrote this article for highlighting the fact that blame belongs with the irresponsible owner and not the breed or the specific dog.
