Roodepoort residents to prepare for lengthy water outage

The shutdown will be on 14 May and will be from 8am to 10pm

Johannesburg Water (JW) will be installing an isolation valve on the F6 pipeline, which will result in residents being without water for approximately 12 hours.

The shutdown will be on 14 May and will be from 8am to 10pm, affecting the Durban Deep meter as well as the Roodepoort West meter.

Areas affected include:

  • Roodepoort CBD
  • Roodepoort West
  • Davidsonville
  • Factoria
  • Manufacta
  • Technikon
  • Tornado Park
  • Georginia
  • Hamberg

JW apologised for any inconvenience and urged residents to save water during the outage, but to continue washing their hands to help curb the spread of the coronavirus.

They also appealed to residents to be patient during the shutdown and cooperate by using water sparingly.
