Region C reports 67 confirmed cases of Covid-19

A total number of 72 people have been hospitalised in the province in public and private facilities.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng stands at 1 697 with 1 036 recoveries and 15 deaths.

Region C, Johannesburg which Gauteng Health classified as amongst others Roodepoort, Constantia Kloof, Northgate, Florida, and Bram Fisherville in their sub-district breakdown report, accounts for 67 of the confirmed cases in Gauteng.

Out of a total of 8 860 contacts traced within the province, 6 192 people have completed the 14-day monitoring period with no symptoms reported and they have now been de-isolated.

The breakdown per district is as follows:

  • Johannesburg – 971 cases with 627 recoveries
  • Ekurhuleni – 366 cases with 263 recoveries
  • Tshwane – 224 cases with 108 recoveries
  • Sedibeng – 21 cases with 6 recoveries
  • West Rand – 51 cases with 32 recoveries
  • Unallocated cases – 64
