Famlies of inmates can deposit money for them during lockdown

Family or friends of individuals who are currently being detained at the Krugersdorp Correctional Services may deposit money into a newly created bank account while in lockdown.

Money for fines for sentenced offenders, or bail funds for detainees may also be deposited into this account.

For a private cash transfer, an amount of up to R1 000 may be deposited. For fines or bail, the maximum is the fine or bail amount.

This account will only be operational during the lockdown; thereafter, it will be closed.

The full names and number of the detainee should be used as reference.
