With the recent announcement that there will be door to door screenings for the coronavirus, many residents have had questions, specifically on what areas will be done on which days.
The dates were not specified in the original announcement but have since been released. All region C tests will be done in April, with a few areas still to be done after the announced lockdown period.
Though there are several dates scheduled for Region C, only three of them fall in the Roodepoort Record area.
From 6 to 9 April, tests will be done in Ward 85 and in the Princess informal settlement.
Conducting the services in these two areas will be 15 Community Health Workers (CHWs) and four team leaders. They have been equipped with 6 000 screening kits and 20 Covid-19 test kits.
Important contacts for these two areas are Ayanda Mbuli (073 440 3435) and Bongekile Jali (073 746 2783).
From 14 to 17 April, tests will be done in Ward 70 and Florida CBD. The 9 CHWs conducting the tests in these two areas have been equipped with 10 000 screening kits and 20 test kits. Important contacts for these dates are Nonhlanhla Madlala (079 532 1909) and Nozipho Mbanjwa (073 845 3697).
Residents in the wards that have not been included are welcome to visit clinics equipped for Covid-19 related issues.
The ward councillors and health department have thanked residents for their cooperation and understanding during this time, and appeal to residents to continue to abide by the lockdown regulations until the end of the lockdown period.
