Hard-working JMPD officer dies

“I can confirm, he passed away in Helen Joseph Hospital,” said Minnaar.

The Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) has lost one of its biggest assets in Region C.

The hard-working Acting Deputy Director for Region C, Superintendent Wandile Mrubata sadly took his last breathe on Tuesday night, 7 April following a short illness.

His untimely passing was confirmed by JMPD spokesperson, Superintendent Wayne Minnaar, who extended his condolences to Mrubata’s family.

“Superintendent Wandile Mrubata passed away in Helen Joseph Hospital,” he said.

“He was very hard-working, and a dedicated member of the JMPD. He would answer his phone even when he was off duty, and was prepared to assist with whatever he could,” Minnaar said about his colleague.

“We are surely going to miss this extremely hard-working member of the JMPD. We want to extend our deepest sympathy to his family,” he added.
