Multiple arrests across West Rand over the last week

Police continue crime-fighting efforts in wake of coronavirus

As police resources are stretched beyond comprehension due to their coronavirus-related deployment, the community can be assured that criminals are still being targeted. Police made several arrests at the back end of last week, with as many as 42 on the West Rand during Operation O Kae Molao.

The arrests covered the full spectrum of crimes as suspects were apprehended for murder, rape, hijacking, theft and kidnapping. Also included were possession of stolen vehicles, unlicensed firearms and possession of drugs. Gauteng Provincial Police spokesperson, Captain Kay Makhubela confirmed, “All arrested suspects are expected to appear before the respective courts on Monday, 6 April”.
