Honeydew Police Station’s hygiene improved
Fidelity’s disinfection sanitizing team descended on the station on Tuesday, 31 March to conduct a sanitization wipe-down of all surfaces within the station, following a plea for sanitizing agents by the Honeydew Community Policing Forum (CPF) on behalf of the station.
While the men and women in blue at Honeydew Police Station continue to put the safety of the community first, even amidst the coronavirus outbreak, Fidelity Services Group under its cleaning division ensured that the station remains hygienic.
Fidelity’s disinfection sanitizing team descended on the station on Tuesday, 31 March to conduct a sanitization wipe-down of all surfaces within the station, following a plea for sanitizing agents by the Honeydew Community Policing Forum (CPF) on behalf of the station.
Jéan van der Westhuizen, the Fidelity Area Manager who travelled from their Midrand office, provided reasons for heeding this plea. “The Fidelity Service Group rendered this service to the police station because we care about the community. We brought our disinfection sanitizing team to wipe all the surfaces with a disinfect chemical which leaves a layer of disinfectant on the surface and helps fight the coronavirus,” he explained.
Top priority was given to the Community Service Centre (CSC), which is the face of the station and available to the public, followed by the other buildings.
Lieutenant Colonel VM Saile, the head of Supply Chain Management at the station, guided the Fidelity team, armed with masks, gloves, a chemical spray bottle and wipes, around the station.
A grateful Honeydew CPF public relations officer, Michael Steyn, expressed appreciation for the service by Fidelity. “We recently put out a plea for hand sanitizers, gloves and masks for the station, and this department from Fidelity came on board after seeing the post,” he said. He added that the company could not provide the listed essentials but instead sent a cleaning crew to the station to sanitize it. “From the CPF’s side, we would like to thank Fidelity for coming on board. I think it’s a big step that they’ve taken to help the members of the police,” he concluded.
