With the lockdown fast approaching, residents have several questions that they need answers for. One of the most widely asked questions is whether or not Pikitup would be operating during the lockdown.
The spokesperson for the refuse collection entity, Muzi Mkhwanazi, has confirmed that as Pikitup is an essential service, collections will continue as normal.
“Pikitup will be working as it has been declared an essential service by the Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Department,” said Muzi.
He further confirmed that the Panorama Garden Site, as well as all other garden sites, will also be operational during this time.
