TS Galaxy bolster their squad after Nedbank exit

Welcoming the new player, club president Tim Sukazi said he believes Mabeba would add a new dimension to the club’s playing style and create healthy competition.

TS Galaxy has confirmed in a media briefing session the signing of former Baroka FC player, Matome Mabeba on Thursday, 27 February.

The experienced left back signed a 16-month contract, which will see him in the Rockets books until 30 June 2021.

The signing of Mabeba comes at a crucial time for the Rockets who are hard at work as they aim to climb up the Glad Africa Championship table, following a great result in their last match against Tuks.

Mabeba, who also has something to offer on the wing, was an integral part of Baroka FC, which won last season’s Telkom Knockout. He scored a superb free kick against Bidvest Wits in the semi-finals before going all the way to win the competition.

Welcoming the new player, club president Tim Sukazi said he believes Mabeba would add a new dimension to the club’s playing style and create healthy competition.

“We are excited to welcome Matome to TS Galaxy Football Club. The quality that he brings adds stealth and a new dimension to our style of play. He has played at the highest level, and his experience will feed onto the rest of the squad and create healthy competition. We wish him nothing but the best at his new home,” said Sukazi.

The team has also managed to secure the services of former Bafana Bafana, Bloemfontein Celtics, Mamelodi Sundowns and Chippa United defender, Thabo Nthethe who signed a contract on Monday 24 February that will see him don the club’s colours for the next 16 months.

Sukazi officially named the club’s new head coach, Mabhuti Khenyeza at a press conference on Tuesday, 18 February.
