City Power technicians had their hands full last night, 12 February and are still busy today, 13 February. Substation trips, feeder trips, and several other problems left many areas without power.
At approximately 3.50am on 13 February, City Power notified Roodepoort residents that they were aware of the outage affecting Little Falls, Wilgeheuwel, Ruimsig, Honeydew, Willowbrook, Amorosa, and surrounding areas. The technicians were dispatched to work on restorations and it was determined that the outage was due to a transformer bay at the Peter Road Substation that had tripped.
At 9.50am, the entity notified residents that the technicians were working on the issue but unfortunately could not provide an ETR at that stage.
The Northsider will update residents as and when information is received. To keep updated on the situation, residents can also follow the City Power Twitter page, @CityPowerJhb.
