Bash Forbez making waves in the entertainment industry
Davidsonville resident encourages everyone to be more versatile
Born Qeanen Lesley Bekker, a 25-year-old Davidsonville resident is moulding his persona into the unstoppable Bash Forbez. Dancer, presenter and reality television contestant, Bash considers himself a dynamic entertainer capable of reaching the stars.
Originally from Mossel Bay, Bash matriculated at Florida Park High School before embarking on his quest to be a star. A self-taught dancer, he knew at eight years old that he was born to entertain. “It just came naturally to me; nobody had to show me how to move,” he said. This natural talent combined with his drive and determination earned himself a role in a music video for international pop star Drake, called One Dance.

Bash’s latest moment in the spotlight is the social experiment reality show Trap! Dis my huis. The show confines 50 contestants in a two-bedroom house with the last one out the door the eventual winner. The show is currently airing on channel 147 of South Africa’s pay-TV satellite subscription service. When pressed on his chance of walking away with the cash prize, he simply giggled, “You will have to watch the show to find out”.
He shares the pearls of wisdom that inspire him on a daily basis saying, “Always try be more versatile. You don’ know what the universe has for you.” Central to his personal identity though is his upbringing. No matter how humble a start one has in life, it does not set a limit on your achievements. “It doesn’t matter where you come from, you can overcome anything,” declared Bash Forbez.
