Additional properties in Roodepoort have plunged into darkness following the blowing up of a transformer in the Little Falls area this morning, Saturday, 8 February.
BCI Security reported that at about 9am a member from BCI management was on patrol on Witwatersrand Avenue, Little Falls when he noticed a transformer that was on fire.
The BCI control room was notified, and City Power and the Fire Department was contacted and dispatched.
Members from City Power were on scene in a few minutes as they are still working in the area.
The report claimed that the transformer was inspected and found to be burned out completely.
“City Power officials on scene confirmed that they will place a mobile generator on site as soon as possible,” the report read.
