‘This is the year to care for our ward’

Ward 83 councillor Dr Florence Roberts writes:

I would like to assure Ward 83 neighbours and all the citizens that while the City of Joburg seems to be under the rule of a different party, it does not change the fact that all of us deserve the best municipal services.

Together with my best wishes for a successful year ahead, above all else, I would like to reassure the residents in my ward that nothing will get in the way of their basic rights.

Despite what people may say, I would like to assure residents, especially the elderly, that your housing and grants will not be taken from you.

My priority for this year is to make sure residents in the ward feel cared for, and that their concerns are being taken seriously.

I am dedicated to facilitating service delivery to all residents in Ward 83.

I urge residents not to listen to the negative expectations for the year that are being thrown around by some people.

The year is filled with opportunities to grow and make sure our community is a safe, clean, and well looked after one.

I will do my utmost best to make sure that every issue is dealt with, and Council is made aware of the community’s serious concerns. Every problem I can resolve, I will, otherwise I will raise concerns that haven’t been dealt with to Council.

2020 is a year to care for our ward, and we have a lot of plans to grow and improve the ward this year.

I encourage all to get involved and do their part in the ward.
