Please assist if you saw our accident

Hantie Jansen van Vuuren from Roodepoort writes:

I am appealing for help from anyone who witnessed a car accident at the intersection of William Nicol Drive and Constantia Boulevard at roughly 4.30pm on 11 December. The accident involved an orange Renault Duster and a white Ford EcoSport.

After visiting all the businesses on the intersection – Flora Clinic, Action Ford and Standard Bank – we also contacted Apcan but it became clear that the intersection is not visible to any surveillance cameras. There is a JMPD camera on the traffic light that flashes if you skip the red light, but JMPD apparently does not allow the public to view the pictures. Our insurance company was also unable to get the pictures from JMPD, due to the fact that our car is not the one that skipped the red light.

Please, if you did see what happened on that day, or it was captured on your dashcam, I would really appreciate it if you would contact me for a witness statement. Without it, our insurance won’t be able to claim from their insurance and I’m afraid we are not in a position to afford the resultant premium increase. I can be contacted at hjvanvuuren@omnia.co.za or on 083 656 5783.
