Eskom has announced that stage 2 load-shedding will be implemented until 4pm today and will resume at 6pm today, 3 February, to help ease traffic congestion.
Suspending load-shedding during peak traffic hours is a pilot programme aimed at achieving an appropriate Loadshedding Philosophy for the country, the power utility said. As this is not possible every day, it will be confirmed each day dependent on the risk, based on the available capacity and emergency reserves on the day.
Stage 2 load-shedding will be implemented until Thursday at 6am, with respite during early morning and evening traffic periods namely, 6am to 9am and 4pm to 6pm when possible.
