Drifters appoint women’s team head coach
Tshuma is a former Roosevelt High School learner and was selected to play for UJ in the ABSA and SASOL Leagues in 2009.
Former University of Johannesburg (UJ) women’s soccer player, Keitumetse Tshuma has been appointed as the head coach of Golden Drifters Football Club Ladies Team.
The team will be competing in the ABSA women’s league during the 2020 season.
Coach Tshuma joins Drifters in terms of a five-year contract as the head coach, with the option to join the club’s management board.
Club president, Proud Shoko said, “The decision to include a women’s team is motivated by the club’s initiative to empower women. We as a club welcome coach Keitumetse Tshuma with open arms and we wish her all the best.”
Tshuma is a former Roosevelt High School learner and was selected to play for UJ in the ABSA and SASOL Leagues in 2009.
Before being held back by injuries, she played for Randburg Football Club where she gained a lot of experience as a player and a leader.
Tshuma is currently employed as a Medical Administrative Assistant at City of Johannesburg (CoJ) and is based at the Zandspruit Clinic.
The new coach said, “I assure you that commitment is my middle name. The biggest goal that I want to accomplish is to see all my players playing in the SASOL League and playoffs.”
