The strategy of learners and teachers to set individual goals undoubtedly worked wonders for Trinityhouse Little Falls High School as it once again achieved a 100 per cent matric pass rate.
Trinityhouse was among the many Independent Examination Board (IEB) registered schools that welcomed back its former learners on Tuesday 7 January to collect their much-anticipated results.
The mood was pleasant as most learners were pleased with the results they saw after opening their sealed envelopes.
A chuffed Lynne Davis, the principal of the school, reflected on her school’s achievements. “2019 was a year in which our learners were encouraged to set their individual goals, and the teachers were encouraged to set goals for their subjects. Looking back, I believe we all achieved these goals,” she said.
Lynne added that although some were a bit disappointed for missing an A by a percentage or two, she was still delighted with the Class of 2019’s overall performance. “Three of our learners achieved eight As, which is fantastic. We also have a 97 per cent Bachelor’s degree pass rate, which is excellent,” she explained.
She revealed their plans for 2020. “For the past two years our matric results have been fantastic. We obviously have a system and recipe that are working for us, which we will continue to use,” she said. However, she added, they might have to manage the next class differently since each group comes with its own dynamics.
