Beating the traffic every day
Most of the time it’s not the child’s fault that he or she is late for school
Parents often ask what they can do to ensure their children get to school on time, every time.
Most of the time it’s not the child’s fault that he or she is late for school, and consequently has to face detention for what could have been avoided.
Here are some tips to ensure that your child is always on time for school:
Plan ahead
Planning what the child will wear and have for lunch is crucial to beating the clock. Parents should try to sort everything out the night before, including breakfast, to save time in the morning.
Time everything you do and plan your departure time
It’s very important to understand how far you have to travel and how long it will take you to get your child to school. Factor in the heavy traffic, and make allowance for possible accidents when you work out the best time to leave the house.
Don’t let them take too much time
Some children prefer bathing themselves when they start school; however, this method is very time-consuming, especially for the little ones, so rather get them bathed at night. As a parent, it is important to monitor their pace and encourage them to be snappy, even when they eat breakfast. Try switching off the television in the morning if it causes a distraction.
