The Oxford English Dictionary defines ‘friendship’ as a state of mutual trust and support between people.
Albert Schweitzer was speaking about friendship when he said, “In everyone’s life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.”
You can always count on your true friends to be there for you when you need them. Friends help you grow to your full potential and you do the same for them. You want the best for each other and share a special love formed from trust.
Friends are honest enough to say what needs to be said, not to hurt you, but to help you grow; because they want the best for you. Plutarch said, “I don’t need a friend who changes when I change and who nods when I nod; my shadow does that much better”.
A friend will not get in the way of your dreams, but will rather help you achieve them. Arnold H Glasow said, “A true friend never gets in your way unless you happen to be going down”.
