Santa Claus not always from the North Pole
Bring Christmas cheer to the people of Newlands and surrounds

The sleigh bells are ringing in the distance and the Christmas lights are brightening up the horizon. Christmas is only a few weeks away and bringing the Christmas joy that little bit closer, are Hans van Niekerk and his Christmas truck.
For those who drown in wrapping paper every Christmas morning, there are more children who are grateful for even the simplest present from Father Christmas. Hans has been inspiring children throughout the West Rand to donate their Christmas presents that may be collecting dust to a worthy cause. Hans gathers these collections and distributes them to the less fortunate during a few evenings in mid-December.

This year’s schedule sees Hans and his elves out on the streets on the evenings of 14, 15 and possibly 16 December, in and around Newlands. The more presents he has, the more joy he can bring, so Hans is asking that, should anybody still be willing to donate their toys, they can do so by simply calling him on 082 805 7437.
“To me it is to show love to the children and letting them understand that there are people who care. For some of them these are the only gifts they will receive this year,” said Hans as he spoke of what motivates him. The Santa Claus of Newlands can be added on WhatsApp, where he will expand on the donation process and ultimate goal of bringing joy to children this Christmas.
