Word of the day

The word of the day for 6 December is: consequences.

The Oxford English Dictionary defines ‘consequences’ as a result or effect, typically one that is unwelcome or unpleasant.

Our choices always have consequences, whether they are positive or negative. If we make a bad choice, the outcome will be negative; if we make a good choice, no matter how difficult, the outcome will be positive. Catherine Pulsifer said, “Life presents many choices, the choices we make determine our future”.

James X Mullen said that freedom is being able to live with the consequences of your decisions. You are free to make your own choices, but you cannot complain when the consequences come to light and you don’t like them. We need to think before we act, and if we don’t, then we need to take responsibility for our actions and their outcomes.

Tom Hiddleston said, “We’re all flawed heroes. Responsibility is power. Take responsibility for the consequences of your actions, and the world is yours. Everything is a choice.”
