New principal has big ambitions

With this new chapter starting in my life, I have great excitement, some nerves to keep me on my toes and an even brighter flame of passion for excellence in education,” he said.

The new year always bring the hope of positive change if not progress in many organisations’ or individuals’ lives.

One individual who already has his ducks in a row for 2020 is André Berrangé, the newly appointed principal of The King’s School Discovery, who is set to move the school’s ethos forward.

Berrangé hasn’t even taken the helm from the current principal, Cathy Segenhout, but he is already oozing with ambition to grow the school and take teaching and learning to the next level.

“With this new chapter starting in my life, I have great excitement, some nerves to keep me on my toes and an even brighter flame of passion for excellence in education,” he said. “I believe in working hard to improve the standard of education in our region and being collegiate with other schools.”

Berrangé is not a new face in the region; he has been involved in coordinating extra-curricular activities, which he plans to introduce at the school.

“There are not many extra-murals at the school at the moment, and with my history and connections, I am hoping to build a solid foundation for the children,” he said.

He further shared his ambition. “My dream for The King’s School Discovery is simply for happy growth. In our profession, we never stop learning. We are a small school with magnificent potential, which makes this institution great,” he concluded and thanked The King’s Group for the opportunity.
